Types of Enrolment

New EUROPEAN DIPLOMA IN MEDIEVAL STUDIES offers three types of enrolment both in-class and online: annual, modular, and personalised:

  1. The complete annual programme lasts eight months, from October to May. This option is credited 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), 44 for the teaching received and 16 for a final dissertation. It consists of 22 weeks (from Monday to Friday) of 15 hours each (from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM) , with a total of 330 hours. It is part of the Erasmus+ programme. Non Erasmus+ students should pay an enrolment fee of € 1.000. The annual programme can be divided into two modules, A and B (see attached brochure), which can be completed in two consecutive years.
  2. The modular programme allows students to enrol in one of many pre-defined modules of 15 weeks. These too are included in Erasmus+, and are credited 30 ECTS each. Non Erasmus+ students should pay an enrolment fee of € 600.
  3. Personalised enrolment allows the student to choose one or more disciplines among those offered during the year. This formula, outside Erasmus+, requires payment: € 150 for a two weeks course; € 100 for a one week course.

A scholarship is planned for the year 2023-2024.
The scholarship will be co-funded by FIDEM and SIEPM ( Société Internationale pour l’Étude de la Philosophie Médiévale).
